Lafayette Farmer's Market |
Located in the
Main Street Parking Lot at 20th &
Shelby, we are open from the first
Tuesday in April to the last Tuesday
in October, rain or shine. We offer
a broad selection of not only
vegetables, but also fruits, herbs,
bedding plants, baked goods, candies
and honey.
The market is run by local country
folk who work hard to provide a
quality product we can be proud of.
Because the soil in Lafayette County
is some of the richest in the state,
we believe that home grown fruits
and vegetables are healthier for
you. Our produce is generally picked
the day of sale, not shipped
hundreds of miles by truck or set in
a warehouse for days. We are proud
to provide what we believe to be the
freshest, healthiest, and tastiest
food available.
For more information call Jim
Wood, Market Master, at
660-584-3552.

Confederate Memorial Missouri State
Historical Site |
Confederate Memorial
State Historic Site commemorates the
more than
forty thousand Missouri
soldiers who fought for the Stars
and Bars. In the 1880's veterans,
organized as the Ex-Confederate
Association of Missouri, came
together to relive old times and to
consider the plight of the less
fortunate among them. In 1889, at
their encampment in Higginsville,
they incorporated a Confederate Home
Association to select a site and
seek funding for a home for their
brethren. The following year, they
purchased a 360 acre farm north of
Higginsville. |
